Every configuration of the Tundra has a payload capacity of over 1,000 pounds, with the strongest able to handle up to 1,940 pounds in its bed. You’ll need the SR5 with RWD, the Double Cab, the 3.4-liter turbo V6 engine, and the 6.5-foot bed to get this towing capacity.
The payload capacity varies based on the trim, cab, bed size, and whether the vehicle is RWD or AWD. Make sure you always check the payload capacity of the Tundra you’re considering buying to make sure it meets your needs. Even trucks with very similar setups can have different maximum payload capacities.

The strongest Tundra is the RWD SR5 with the i-FORCE 3.4-liter V6 engine, Double Cab, and 6.5-foot bed, which can tackle towing loads up to 12,000 pounds in weight.
