Regular maintenance and inspections help maintain your vehicle’s fuel efficiency and performance, and may help avoid costly repairs down the road.

Winter in this area is soon to arrive, and the season can affect almost all vehicle systems. Some are especially vulnerable.

Batteries: Work harder when it is cold and can compromise performance up to 60 percent.

Tires:  Cold weather reduces tire pressure, and tire balance

Wheels: Potholes, road construction/renovation etc. can wreak havoc on a vehicle wheel’s, suspension, alignment etc.

Brakes: Parking brake line(s) tend to “freeze” which causes great drag on rear brakes.

Belts and Hoses: May become brittle, crack or expand and contract so as to “blister”

Some “Winter Protection” suggestions area's are:

Cooling/Heating (Radiator) Antifreeze/Engine Coolant: Inspect add/fill or flush if necessary

Battery: Test and if necessary replace old batteries

Tires and wheels: Inflate tires to proper pressure and balance. (Alignment should be checked as well)

Brakes: A check up can uncover any damage. Inspect the brake system including: checking the thickness of pads, shoes, rotors and drums. Inspect brake fluid for proper level. Lubricate “parking brake” lines.

Belts and hoses: Inspect and replace worn or cracked belts.
